Since 2018, ChiGivesBack’s Labor of Love has transformed Chicago’s back-to-school season into something extraordinary. Each August, across two locations on the South and West Sides, hundreds of students receive more than backpacks, they gain confidence, care, and community. Volunteer barbers, stylists, braiders, locticians, nail technicians, and medical professionals donate their time to provide free haircuts, styling, and health screenings, while children leave prepared and proud.

Englewood Branded (Southside Location)
At Englewood Branded, Labor of Love feels like a true neighborhood celebration. Families line the block as local barbers, stylists, and braiders transform young students with fresh hairstyles. We offer health screenings at this location. The energy is joyful and proud, a reflection of a community that believes in showing up for one another.
Madison Street Barbers (Westside Location)
Across town at Madison Street Barbers, the spirit of service runs deep. Barbers and stylists donate their time and talent to give every child a polished look that says, “I’m ready.” Partner organizations, like Tips312, provide manicures. The West Side event embodies resilience and pride to make sure every student steps into the new school year feeling valued, supported, and seen.
